Privacy Policy

What TROVA is

TROVA is software used by home-service contractors (plumbing, HVAC, electrical and similar trades). A contractor's technician records a service visit with the homeowner's knowledge and consent, and TROVA prepares a written estimate from that visit, delivers it to the homeowner, and gives the contractor coaching on the visit.

Information we collect

From contractors (our customers): business name, address, phone, email, user logins, price lists, and, where the contractor connects one, data from their field-service software such as customer names, addresses and phone numbers.
From service visits: audio recordings of the visit, transcripts, the estimate produced, and the homeowner's name, address and mobile number as provided by the homeowner to the contractor.
From homeowners viewing an estimate: which sections of the estimate were viewed and any reply sent by text.
Technical: IP address, device and browser information, and logs needed to run and secure the service.

How we use it

To transcribe the visit and prepare the contractor's estimate.
To deliver the estimate to the homeowner by text message, at the homeowner's request, and to relay replies between the homeowner and the contractor.
To coach the contractor's technician on the visit.
To operate, secure, support and improve the service, and to bill contractors.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use homeowner information for advertising.

Text messaging (SMS)

Consent. A homeowner receives text messages from TROVA only after asking their contractor for the estimate by text and providing their mobile number for that purpose, or after requesting it on a contractor's form that carries the same disclosure. Consent is recorded per visit.

What you receive. A text with a link to your estimate, and replies from your contractor about that estimate. Message frequency varies by visit and is typically one to three messages. Message and data rates may apply.

Opt out. Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving messages. Reply HELP for help, or email support@hellotrova.com.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, excluding aggregators and providers of the text message services. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

We do not share, sell, or provide your mobile phone number or messaging consent data to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Who we share with

Only service providers that process data for us under contract: cloud hosting and storage, speech-to-text and language-model providers used to prepare estimates and coaching, the text message and email carriers used to deliver messages, and payment processing for contractors. Each receives only what it needs for its function. We may also disclose information when required by law.

Recordings

Visits are recorded only with the homeowner's knowledge and consent, as required by law in the state where the visit takes place. Recordings and transcripts belong to the contractor and are kept to produce the estimate and coaching. A homeowner or contractor may request deletion at any time.

Retention and security

We keep information for as long as the contractor's account is active or as needed for the purposes above, then delete or anonymize it. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is limited to staff who need it, and credentials for connected software are stored encrypted.

Your choices

You may ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or opt out of text messages, by emailing support@hellotrova.com or replying STOP to any message. California residents have the rights described in the CCPA, and we honor them for everyone.

Children

TROVA is not directed to anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect information from minors.
