Trova ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information when you interact with our website, our wearable device, our contractor dashboard, or receive communications through Trova-enabled contractors.
By using Trova or providing your information to a Trova-enabled contractor, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
- Contact details — name, company name, email address, phone number, and shipping address when you request a demo, place a pre-order, or create an account.
- Payment information — processed securely by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
- Account content — conversations captured by the Trova device on job sites where the device is in use.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data — how you interact with our website and dashboard (pages viewed, clicks, time on page, device/browser type, IP address).
- Cookies and similar technologies — used for session management, analytics, and essential site functionality.
Information from Trova-enabled contractors
If you are a customer of a contractor using Trova, that contractor may share your name, phone number, service address, and appointment details with us so we can process the service visit, send you SMS notifications (where you have opted in), and document the conversation for the contractor's records.
How We Use Your Information
- Provide, operate, and improve the Trova device, software, and services
- Process pre-orders, deposits, and billing
- Send SMS and email notifications related to service visits and account activity
- Generate proposals, estimates, warranty records, and coaching insights for the contractor
- Respond to support requests and communicate with you
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, security, or technical issues
- Comply with legal obligations
SMS Communications
We may collect your mobile phone number if you provide it in connection with scheduling a service visit through a Trova-enabled contractor, or by creating a Trova account as a contractor staff member.
We may send you text messages for: visit confirmations, pre-visit consent requests, technician-on-the-way notifications, proposal-ready alerts, appointment reminders, and account-related service updates.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. For help, reply HELP or email support@hellotrova.com.
We do not share or sell your phone number or SMS opt-in data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
How We Share Information
We share information only in the following limited circumstances:
- With the contractor who captured the conversation. Trova is a tool for contractors; your conversation data is made available to the contracting company you interacted with.
- With service providers who help us operate Trova (hosting, payment processing, transcription, SMS delivery, email delivery, analytics). These providers are contractually bound to use your data only to provide services to us.
- For legal reasons — to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, or protect the rights, property, or safety of Trova, our users, or others.
- In a business transfer — if Trova is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may transfer to the successor entity, subject to this policy.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your phone number or SMS opt-in data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Trova service and comply with legal obligations. Captured conversations and proposals are retained on behalf of the contractor and are subject to the contractor's own retention policies. You may request deletion of your personal information by contacting us at support@hellotrova.com.
Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including TLS encryption in transit, encrypted storage at rest, and access controls limiting internal access to authorized personnel. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct or update inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Opt out of marketing communications
- Receive a copy of your data in a portable format

California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)
California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete, and the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. Children's Privacy
Trova is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
International Users
Trova is operated in the United States. If you access Trova from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the U.S.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of Trova after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
